Here we go! Another Freshers’ Week is coming round again, and this year's is going to be bigger than ever.  We are on the lookout for this year’s team of fun, friendly, energetic Freshers’ Helpers to welcome our new students and give them the best start to university life possible!

From new students, to fellow team members, to Full-Time Officers, there is no better way to network with as diverse a group as quickly. As well as the above, you also work alongside many GK Unions staff, a great opportunity to make some useful contacts. And there’s always the chance of finding some new recruits for your student group!

 

IMPROVE YOUR COMMUNICATION, TEAM WORK AND CULTURAL AWARENESS SKILLS

Employers are looking for more than just a degree. You hear it all the time, but it’s true. Co-curricular activity, positions of leadership and volunteering are three key areas they look out for, as well as skills like the above. They don’t just want you to tell them you have these skills, but give examples of when you have effectively used these skills. Enter Freshers’ Helpers…

 

REPRESENT YOUR UNION

Show, tell and be an example of what the Union can offer new students. Student groups, Advice and representation are just a few areas you can share. Already a Course Rep? Convince others to run and affect more change at the University. Part of a society? Find new students who share your passion. The opportunities are endless. And last but certainly not least…
