Register to vote - the election is coming

Parliment has voted to call a general election on the 12th of December.  If you need a little help sorting out what all this means, the BBC have created a good guide here.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49826655

If you want to be part of chosing the next governement you must be registered to vote. As a student who might be studying away from home, here are some top tips.

  • Students can be registered in two places (Uni and at home) they will be sent 2 polling cards, On the 12th December they can vote at the constituency they are in.

  • If they want to vote at home but they are at university (or the other way around) they can apply for a postal ballot.

  • Students from Commonwealth countries are eligible to vote (with some exceptions)

Please take five minutes to check you are registered or get registered today. You will need your National Insurance Number to vote, if you don't have this - visit
