As we race towards the end of the 2018-2019 academic year, it is time for many of us to move on and move out from our accommodation!
With so much to do in so little time, it can be a rush to evacuate your student halls and items can get discarded and not properly recycled or reused.
Sustainability has been a priority for both Kent and Greenwich Universities this year. The Medway Campus has been looking for a student passionate about environmental and social sustainability to volunteer as a Sustainability Ambassador. We need you to help us make this Campus a more environmentally conscious place to study and live!
In Liberty Quays, we have collection bins for unwanted items that you use as you move out. Food, such as tinned fruit, pasta sauces and tinned desserts (as long as they are in date), and toiletries, such as toothpaste, shampoo and razors (as long as they are sealed and unused) can be collected and will go the local Medway Food Bank.
We are also accepting most household items, such as bedding, kitchen utensils, pots and pans (these can be used but clean!) which you don’t want to take with you. These will go through the Chaplain’s Bargain Corner and can be purchased at a reduced rate by new students in need.
Greenwich Halls will be collecting the items into their offices rather than offering collection bins so please do ask Reception if you want to donate.
We really hope that this year has been a successful one and we wish you all the best whether the future brings continued studies or graduation and employment!
