Tough week for #TeamMedway this week with no wins to record for this week.
We will start with a positive! Futsal have continued their winnings ways with a hard fought win last Sunday. The final score does not reflect this statement with a brillaint 12 - 8 victory away from home. Team Medway were down 4 - 1 at one point and clawed back to 5-5 at half time. The half time team talk obviously worked as they eventually kicked into gear and recorded a nice victory which gives them a nice goal difference cushion at the top of the league.
Netball 1st, by 1st Team Captain Nadia McMillan and President Emily Clarke
Firsts lost their cup game today 29-21 to Kent 2nds. We put up a strong fight and was so close to drawing it back at times but unfortunately we got outplayed.
it was a very intense but messy game with both teams making an abundance of basic mistakes caused by rushing the ball down court far too quickly.
For 1sts this game provided an insight into specific skills that we need to work on and we are currently trying to arrange an extra training session to focus on these skills and help us bond better as a team. Losing can be very frustrating, especially after such a brilliant season last year, however, we are keeping our heads high and and keeping looking forward with more determination for the games to follow. The player of the match was Hanna as her work rate on court exceeded all of the rest of the teams combined and she truly gave it everything.
Player of the match - Hanna Salam.
Volleyball 1st, by 1st team President Basim Chishty.
Volleyball BUCS team (Male) lost 3 - 0 against University of Hertfordshire. All the sets played went to an equivalizer where the opponents took the lead and won. Pround of my team. The game was very intense today. Looking forward to bag more victories
Badminton 1st, by President Matt Mcpherson.
Medway badminton lost their cup match 7-1. The score doesn't reflect how close the games were, the team put in a great performance today, well done to everyone!

Medway men's football 1sts were away to Brighton 2nd team in the cup, we started the game well playing good possession football. Against play Brighton got a corner and after failing to clear our lines we were 1-0 down. Then Brighton gained momentum and made it 2-0. Second half another corner and Brighton went 3-0 up. Both teams battled hard with Brighton just edging us with fitness. Then we got hit on the counter and were 4-0 down. Final Score Brighton 2nds 4-0 Medway 1sts, It was agreed amongst the squad no player was to be awarded player of the match.
Football 2nds were up against it from the off with only 10 fit players available to play. The team did incredibly well to get into half time 1-1 but after a hard fought 2nd half, they lost 3-1 against St Marys.
It was a bad day at the office but it is certainly something the team are itching to forget and move on to the next one!
